Winds wreak chaos at Sydney Airport
Strong winds are causing havoc for emergency services and travellers at Sydney Airport.
Nearly 80 flights have been cancelled at Sydney airport’s domestic and international terminals, leaving thousands of people delayed.
Airport Corporate Affairs General Manager Sally Fielke says they’ve had one runway operating for most of the day.
“It has caused numerous cancellation and delays but people are getting on their way.
“People are still travelling. Airlines have been reaching out to their customer to update them.
“The best advice I can give people… is to make sure you check with your airline.”

Emergency crews are also trying to secure aluminum panels which have come lose on a building in Parramatta.
There are concerns the sheets will fly off in the strong winds.
Three people have also had a lucky escape after a tree fell on the car they were in at Northbridge in Sydney.
