One dead and delays across Sydney following three separate crashes
One person is dead, and there are traffic delays in-and-around Sydney after three separate truck crashes.
A driver died when two trucks smashed head-on MacArthur Drive at Wilton in the south. Picton Road has reopened westbound, after it was closed in both directions as a result.
The Cumberland Highway was also closed in both direction at Smithfield in Sydney’s west, but has since reopened after a B-double hit traffic lights.
The driver of the truck escaped injury, but the truck’s fuel tanks ruptured on impact and fuel spilled onto the roadway.
Hazmat crews were on site cleaning up the spill and motorists were re advised to avoid the area.
