on February 16th 1942 Australian nurses that were survivors of the sunken merchant ship were marched into the surf by Japanese soldiers and were all executed.

In one of the worst atrocities of Australia’s involvement in World War II, all but one would not make it back to the beach alive.

Michael Noyce who is the nephew of his deceased nurse Kath Neuss spoke to Jim Wilson and said, “It’s some part of Australia’s history that should never really be forgotten”.

Detailing how her Aunt was involved Mr Noyce told Jim, “She was a nurse before the war… it was part of their duty”.

“Radji beach was one big wargrove.”
