Australian acting icons Hugo Weaving, Claudia Karvan and Rachel Ward joined Afternoons at the red carpet opening of the Sydney Film Festival.

The opening night of the Sydney Film Festival was held at the State Theatre last night.

The New Boy, starring Cate Blanchett and directed by Australian Director Warwick Thornton, was the opening film at the festival.

Hugo Weaving told the Afternoons team, “This is where like-minded can get together and share who we are and look at ourselves in the mirror.”
