One of Australia’s most iconic musicians, songwriters, and entertainers is celebrating 60 years in the industry.

Don Spencer’s career has spanned over 60 years and it has seen him perform across the globe with the likes of the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger.

Notoriously, he hosted the iconic children’s TV show Play School in Australia and the UK for over 28 years.

The entertainer continues to spread his unique magic of music not only through his extensive music catalogue, but through his charity, the Australian Children’s Music Foundation (ACMF).

The ACMF music programs are successful in promising children long-term music commitments.

Reflecting on his time in the industry, Don Spencer told Deborah Knight he is proud of his achievements and influence on the music world.

“I think everybody reacts to music… it’s a wonderful way to get children involved… we get them to school, we get them educated… it’s actually giving these kids a chance to be creative and make something of their lives,” he said.
