20 tonne pillar smashes through bank wall
A huge concrete pillar has smashed through the wall of the Bendigo Bank in Bexley.
The pillar was felled at a demolition site next door to the bank, running off course and punching a 4 x 2 meter hole into the double brick wall.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry joined Jim Wilson on Drive with the details.
“A collumn has come astray and knocked a hole in the side of that double brick, the bricks have gone everywhere,” he said.
“We are fortunate there have been no injuries.”
