Fully-vaccinated Australians are being asked to come forward for their third COVID-19 vaccine as the booster program formally begins.

Anyone who received their second dose at least six months ago (i.e. before May 8) is now eligible for their Pfizer booster.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt told Ben Fordham 173,000 Australians have already had their third shot.

“Whilst the program begins formally today, those GPs and those Commonwealth vaccination clinics, Aboriginal medical services, state clinics and aged care and disability services that were ready have started.

“We’re also now adding it to pharmacies.”
