Double demerits are back

Article image for Double demerits are back

Double demerits will be enforced this Easter long weekend, starting on Thursday.

Double demerits will be in place from Thursday, April 18, to Monday, April 22.

They will start up again ahead of Anzac Day, from Wednesday, April 24 and end on Sunday, April 28.

NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander Michael Corboy tells John Stanely they will focus on smaller communities.

“We’ve got people from all over the state going to those areas where we have had a concentration of serious and fatal crashes.

“So the northern part of the state and the western part of the state will be our specific target areas.”
