New research has shown that 1 in 4 Australians know next to nothing about the Holocaust.

A study at Deakin University was done and Australians were surveyed to see their knowledge of the world worst mass genocide.

Individuals that participated were not able to identify basic facts, including 6 million Jewish people being murdered.

Federal Member for Wentworth Dave Sharma told Jim Wilson the statistic of Australians not knowing anything about the holocaust is “shocking”.

Mr Sharma has encouraged Australian schools to educate children and individuals on the events and says, “We need to be doing more”.

“It shows that we have to struggle harder to make sure this is taught.”
