53 Australians die every day from kidney disease.

Despite the number affected by the disease, over 1.5 million people have no idea they have it.

Even more shocking, 90% of our kidney function can be lost without any symptoms.

In a study by HCF, members claimed $57 million in kidney-health related expenses in 2017.

Chris Smith speaks with HCF Councillor and Senior Staff Specialist in Nephrology at Westmead Hospital, Dr Richard Phoon.

“We know about one in three Australian adults are at risk of kidney disease.”

Dr Phoon also answers your questions.
