Iran has confirmed it has three Australian citizens in detention over allegations of spying and taking photos in military spaces.

A judiciary spokesman is quoted as confirming two had taken pictures in military areas and a third was detained for spying for another country.

Travel bloggers, Jolie King and Mark Firkin, were arrested 10 weeks ago after reportedly flying a drone near a military base in Jajrood in Tehran province.

Dual-British citizen Kylie Moore-Gilbert has been held in Iran for many months according to her family.

American-born Iranian Australian Rita Panahi tells Steve Price she has not visited the country since she came to Australia.

“Do not put yourself in peril and think you can go there.

“I think in Iran you’re putting yourself in an unacceptable risk.”
