Sparkling wine from Tasmania to bubble to the top

Proud sparkling wine producers in Tasmania are making moves to give their product the same protections given to Champagne, which is produced in a region of France.

A delegation of European Union officials have traveled to the state, to discuss naming rights and processes.

Reporter Roshai Murdoch spoke with Tasmanian Wine Maker and Consultant Doctor Andrew Pirie, who says it’s time locally produced sparkling wine is properly protected.
