MG’s small hatches get automatic, more spec and a 7-year warranty
Talking further on MG’ s revamped entry model five-door hatch – the 1.5-litre MG3 – previously manual only but now only available in four-speed automatic – the MG3 Core now selling from 15,990 drive-away, the better-equipped Excite from $17,490 drive-away. Both get styling updates, more specification and a welcome new 7-year/unlimited kilometre warranty. The entry MG Core
1.5-litre auto five-door hatch now gets LED daytime running lights and taillights, 15-inch alloy wheels, dusk-sensing headlights, rear fog lights, power windows and rear view mirrors, a reversing
camera, rear parking sensors, cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring . Inside an 8-inch colour touch screen, Apple car play, a leather trimmed flat-bottomed steering wheel, and Bluetooth. Not bad for an an entry hatch while MG3 Excite models add leather amongst other items. It still only has a 3-star crash safety rating but safety gear does includes six airbags emergency brake assist, hill start assist and stability and traction control. I’m David Berthon
