An exciting new premium compact SUV this week – the Audi Q2, the next chapter in the Audi Q family, joining the Q3. Q5 and Q7, which now represent around 50 per cent of Audi’s sales. Audi describe the new Q2 as an urban adventure vehicle – however you tag it, it left me wanting more this week when I drove it in Victoria – with an entry price of $41,100 the Audi Q2 is just $1,800 under the most affordable Audi Q3 however its more edgy than the Q3 and will possibly appeal to a younger buyer demographic, Audi suggesting 2/3rds of customers will be under 45/50. Having said that it appealed to this older driver in many ways – two drive lines – 1.4-litre turbo petrol in front drive only and 2.0-litre turbo diesel in Quattro all- wheel-drive only – both linked to seven-speed dual clutch automatic–The Audi Q2 places a lot of value on technology – I’ll explain in my next segments.
