The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon
REGISTRATIONS TO AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST AND MOST ICONIC HALF MARATHON ARE NOW OPEN
Australia’s largest and most iconic Half Marathon event, The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Qantas Assure, will take place on Sunday 20 May, 2018. Runners of every calibre can tackle the prestigious race which takes runners around a picturesque 21.1km course with a backdrop of the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks, Pyrmont Peninsula and Hyde Park.
Now in its 27th year, the electric atmosphere created by the mixture of local, interstate and international participants of all levels pushing through barriers has made The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon the most impressive race of its kind. With entries now open, participants who sign up before March 21 have the chance to save $25.
Along with the individual Half Marathon, the event provides participants with the option to share the experience by entering as a Team Relay, which for the first time will be an even split of two 10.5km legs. This year will also see the return of the 2.5km Elite Wheelchair Sprint.
This year’s event will again partner with a range of Australian charities through everydayhero with the goal to raise $1 million for a wide range of worthy local, community and worldwide causes.
Participants can be a ‘hero’ for their favourite charity, make a one-off donation when completing their event entry or supporters can sponsor a friend or family member who is participating.
Put your physical and mental limits to the test in 2018 and register today for The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Qantas Assure at www.smhhalfmarathon.com.au.
