The 17th annual BayRun will be held on Sunday, August 4 around Sydney’s stunning Iron Cove, bringing families, school kids and elite runners together in a spirit of community fun and fitness.
Early bird registrations are now open so get in quick and take advantage of the savings.
BayRun 2019 will once again attract more than 2000 runners and walkers. While it’s a favourite with families wanting a fun day out it’s also considered the ideal warm up race for the famous City to Surf, attracting elite runners aiming for a personal best.
Race categories include the 2km Primary School Challenge, Men’s and Women’s open categories, team category and one of our most popular events which really sets BayRun apart from other fun runs – our Fastest dog in the Inner West category.
The picturesque course starts near Le Montage in Leichhardt and winds around Callan Park, across the Iron Cove Bridge, along Henley Marine Drive and neighbouring suburbs of Drummoyne and Rodd Point, and finally the waterside bike path past Lilyfield to the finishing line.
The Primary OSHCare 2km Children’s Challenge, attracts students from across Sydney. Participants receive a medal and the chance to win prizes for their school. There are plenty of marshals on the course keeping a close eye on all of our littlest entrants but parents are welcome to run alongside their children if they wish by registering as an accompanying adult.
Funds raised after the costs of organising the race go to Dobroyd Point Public School to provide facilities and resources for the students.
By entering the BayRun you can also support remote Indigenous communities by asking people to sponsor your efforts! The Indigenous Literacy Foundation is our charity partner for the event.
