It’s the question that’s been haunting us for months.

Does Australia have enough energy to meet the demand?

On Thursday, a report was released which answers whether residents and businesses will have reliable power and how much our bills will cost.

Deputy Chair of the Independent Energy Security Board, Claire Savage, tells Ross Greenwood more.

“Right now, we do have enough energy to meet our demands and our needs.

“The thing we think we really need is to give some confidence to new investors. If we don’t get the investment we need in the system that’s the only way we’re going to bring down power prices.

“What we’re hoping to achieve is to bring together energy and climate policy for the very first time… after a decade of failed attempts.”
