Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott says, for the first time, the coalition has turned the tables and is on track to win the next election.

Speaking with Ben Fordham, Mr Abbott says Labor has gotten carried away with the polls and are leaning further and further to the left.

“I think Bill Shorten is now looking like a loser come the next election and, in part, it’s because he is incapable of reigning in the CFMEU on the one hand and the green left on the other hand.

“They are so convinced on the basis of polls that they can’t lose that they are indulging themselves.

“I think at this rate, for the first time, you’d have to say the coalition would be favoured to win.”
