General Terms & Conditions 2GB - 2015

Examples of minor promotions on Radio 2GB:

1.Alan Jones Music Segment:

Everyday during the breakfast program Alan Jones asks listeners a question relating to the CD of the week. The nominated caller/s through with the right answer will win a general prize.

 

2.Chris Smith ‘Smithys Quiz’ Segment:

Everyday during the afternoon program Chris Smith will ask quiz questions. The format is a last man standing quiz, with callers answering questions until they get one wrong, then revert to the next caller. The last caller to answer question 5 correctly will win the general prize/s.

 

3.Ben Fordham Happy Hour:

Every Friday during the drive program Ben Fordham will cue ‘Happy Hour’. The nominated caller/s through will win the general prize/s.

 

4.Sportszone Quiz:

Every Friday clues to a person or thing will be given out throughout the Sportzone program. The nominated correct caller/s through will win the general prize/s.

 

5.General Prize Sheet:

Various general prizes are given away as part of quizzes, segments and/or as gifts to listeners during the week. These are at the announcer's discretion.

Prizes:

General prizes include CD's, DVD's, flowers/fruit, books, games, toys, movie passes, theatre tickets, restaurant vouchers, accommodation vouchers etc.

 

Terms & Conditions:

These terms and conditions will be available to view at 2GB.com during the time of its validity.

All winners are automatically entered on the 2GB Promotions Database.

Only one minor prize can be won by any one listener OR a member of the same family within a THREE week period.

Only one minor prize can be won per household within a THREE week period.

Only one minor prize can be won by a member of an immediate family within a THREE week period.

Only one major prize can be won in a competition conducted by any station of the Macquarie Radio Network by any one listener within a twelve month period.

For any end of week draw, only one entry per person will be accepted.

The maximum single value for a major prize is worth $1,000, unless otherwise specified in an additional permit.

Where specified, prizes may need to be collected from the studios/office of Radio 2GB. If a prize is required to be collected and the winner cannot collect, the winner will incur the cost of a courier, postage or forfeit the prize.

All winners contact details are retained for administrative purposes only.

Winners who ‘opt-in’ to receive information from external companies may be contacted by those companies for any purpose.

No information will be disclosed to anyone outside 2GB.

All Prize fulfilment can take up to four weeks due to the amount of prizes given away.

Once the prize has left the offices of Radio 2GB we hold no responsibility regarding breakages or loss of parcel. In case of lost mail the winner will need to liaise directly with their local post office. 2GB will make every effort to help the situation but replacements are not guaranteed.

If the prize is not available due to unforseen circumstances Radio 2GB reserves the right to exchange the prize for something of equal value.

Judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Winners cannot exchange prizes for cash or for any other prize.

Current Employees of the Macquarie Radio Network and their immediate families and group companies and any other company associated to the specific competition are not eligible to enter the competitions.

Unless otherwise advised, only residents of the 2GB listening area in New South Wales are eligible to enter competitions and win prizes.

Radio 2GB reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.

All contestants release from, and indemnify 2GB and the Macquarie Radio Network against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the competition including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury.

If the winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize may be awarded to the winner's parent or guardian.

Radio 2GB has the right to temporarily or permanently disqualify any person from taking part in any promotions or competitions if the station, in its sole discretion, deems that person to have broken the rules of the general prize giveaways. The person will be advised of this in writing after the decision to disqualify has been made.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a show, concert or event is cancelled radio 2GB will not be held liable to replace the prize. Replacement prizes will be at the discretion of the promoter.

At no time will Radio 2GB be held responsible for faults or drop outs in telephony or other IT communication in relation to on-air contesting, whether in the contestants device or connection or Radio 2GB's device or connection. In such an instance, no compensatory prizes or allowance will be made.

Radio 2GB may at any time and  in its absolute discretion alter, amend, add to, waive or enforce the General Competition Rules and any Specific Competition Rules with present, future or antecedent effect as it sees fit.

Each entrant consents to the content of their entry and any telephone entries or other call with the Promoter being recorded, broadcast and published online by the Promoter without payment.

All winners may be required by Radio 2GB in its absolute discretion to:

-        Participate in promotional activities for the benefit of Radio 2GB.

-        That he or she will not, without prior written consent of Radio 2GB (which maybe with held in its absolute discretion) participate in any other media activities, promotions for the purpose of or which involve discussion, commenting on, expressing a view on the account of the competition.

-        In promotional activities the winner will refrain from expressing a negative or disparate view of Radio 2GB or parent company the Macquarie Radio Network and its operations and related bodies.

-        The winner acknowledges and agrees that Radio 2GB has the right to all materials generated in connection with the promotion and can use the material in any medium and in any manner it sees fit.

-        Radio 2GB will also hold the copyright to any photographs, video footage or written comment taken for publicity purposes and can use these items in any promotional material for the time period of five years.

-        Competition winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge of Radio 2GB and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the competition.

 

Use of false name or address, i.e. name by which the entrant is not usually known will disqualify them from receiving the prize.

 

Acceptance of entering the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.

 

All correspondence regarding prizes must be in writing to the Promotions Department at Radio 2GB.

 

All correspondence will be answered within a three week period.

 

Notwithstanding any other condition of these specific competition rules, Radio 2GB reserves the right to withdraw the competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

 

The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize(s), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

 

If the prize requires travel it will be each prize winner’s and (if applicable) their accompanying guest/s responsibility to take out all relevant insurance (including but not limited to travel insurance) which may be required or prudent to be taken (at their own cost) unless otherwise specified.

For Web Entries

1.     Participants will be required to their personal details including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number and correct answer. Incomprehensible entries will not be included in the draw.

2.     Entries must be received by the disclosed time (AEST/AEDT) on disclosed date.  The time of entry will in each case be the time the registered on the website.

3.     The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the web user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

4.     If for any reason if the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.

1.     For phone entry: If available as a form of competition entry, 2GB number is 1300 722 873. Participants will be required to their personal details including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number and correct answer. Inaudible and incomprehensible recordings will not be included in the draw.

Special Competition Rules

 

1.      The Promoter is Harbour Radio Pty Ltd  of Macquarie Radio Network, Level 1, Building C, 33-35 Saunders Street, Pyrmont, NSW,2009; ABN 89 010 853 317(“2GB”)

2.      Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions, in addition to 2GB’s General Competition Entry Rules.

3.      Entry is open to residents New South Wales only and entry is deemed as acknowledgement and acceptance of Conditions of Entry.

4.      Macquarie Radio Network and Fairfax Radio Network employees, employees of Dodo Services Pty Limited and their immediate families and any agencies associated with this promotion are excluded from entry.

5.      There will be a total of one (1) major prize. Win your August energy bill paid to the value of $500  The prize redeemed as cash to a maximum of $500.

6.      Mechanics:

·         From 20 July – 21 August 2015 listeners will be invited to head to www.2GB.com.au to tell us in 25 words or less why you should have your energy bill paid.

7.      The most creative entry will be selected by the Promoter at 2GB on Monday 24 August 2015 at 10am.

8.      An alternative winner will be selected if the winner cannot be identified or is ineligible.

9.      No alternative prizes will be offered.

10.  2GB reserves the right to request winners provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.

12.  In addition to clause 4 of the General Competition Entry Rules, all prize winners and contestant release from, and indemnify 2GB and Macquarie Radio Network Limited and its related bodies corporate against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the competition including (but not limited to) personal injury, damage to property and loss of income and whether direct, indirect, consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission, or otherwise.

13.  In addition to clause 4 of the General Competition Entry Rules, to the full extent permitted by law, 2GB and its related bodies corporate, associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) which is suffered or incurred by any eligible entrant in connection with the Promotion, including: (i) any direct, indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from the negligence of a Relevant Party; (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.

14.  2GB has the right to ban competition winners from entering other 2GB competitions that they deem have broken the rules of the general prize giveaways for a period of 12 months. The winner will be advised of this in writing after the entrant has been disqualified.

 

 

Win $1000 Every Week Thanks To Dancing With The Stars: specific terms and conditions

1. Promotion. These terms and conditions relate to the “Dancing With the Stars" promotion ("Promotion"). Information on how to enter and the Prizes forms part of these terms and conditions.

2. Promoter. The Promoter is Harbour Radio Pty Ltd of Level 1, Building C, 33-35 Saunders Street, Pyrmont, NSW, 2009 (the "Promoter") and Radio 4BC, 77 Southgate Avenue, Cannon Hill Qld 4170.

3. Subject to Terms and Conditions. Any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions is invalid. By entering into or otherwise participating in the Promotion, you say that you agree to these terms and conditions. Subject to the approval required by any relevant gaming or lotteries authority, the Promoter may at any time and in its absolute discretion alter, amend, add to, waive or enforce these terms and conditions with present, future or antecedent effect as it sees fit.

4. Eligibility. Entry is open to residents of New South Wales and Queensland only. Employees of the Promoter or its associated companies, employees of any agencies associated with this Promotion and the immediate families of any such employees are not eligible to enter. Entrants must be over 18.

5. Promotional Period. The Promotion commences on Monday July 13, 2015 AEST and concludes on Monday 24 August at 9:00am AEST ("Promotional Period"). Subject to the approval required by any relevant gaming or lotteries authority, and notwithstanding any other condition of these specific competition rules, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the Promotion at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

6. Entry. From Monday 13 July until Monday 24 August, entrants need to watch Dancing with the Stars Sunday nights on Channel 7  to receive the codeword advertised for the promotion. Then listen each Monday during the promotion for  the codeword given out on the Alan Jones show between 5:00am & 9:00am. The first caller to correctly identify the codeword on 1300 722 873 will receive the $1000 prize.

7. Restrictions on Entry. Only one entry is permitted per person, per day and only one Prize can be won per person. Use of a false name (ie. the name by which the entrant is not usually known) or address is not permitted. Entrants using false information will be disqualified. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process. Members of the same household or family may enter, but no household or family or club can win a prize more than once in a 3 week period in a promotion held by the Promoter.

8. Promoter may Disqualify Entrants. The Promoter may verify the validity of entries, including but not limited to whether an entry is in accordance with these terms and conditions, and may disqualify any entrant in its absolute discretion.

9. Receipt of Entries. Entries are deemed to have been received at the time of receipt by the Promoter. The Promoter is not responsible for failure to receive any entry for any cause beyond its control. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any inability or difficulty in entering the Promotion caused by the unavailability of, or other fault on, the Website.

10. Prizes. The total prize pool value is $6,000.00 and consists of 6 x prizes of $1000.

The prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize. Prize values are correct at the time of printing but no responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of any Prizes. If a Prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter will, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of no lesser retail value and/or specification, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for the conduct of the Promotion. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by the winners or any other party if a Prize is unavailable for any reason.

11. Announcement of Winners. Each week’s prize winner will be announced on Breakfast with Alan Jones  program on 2GB 873 & 4BC 1116 between 5:00am AEST and 9:00am AEST on Monday 20 July, Monday 27 July, Monday 3, 10, 17 & 24 August 2015 during the promotional period.. The winners’ names and photo may also appear on the website. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of employment at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter or its agent. Should the Promoter not be able to contact the winner within 5 business days, it may, in its absolute discretion, decide to award the Prize to the next best entrant.

12. Prize Fulfilment. The prize consists of a allocation of up to $1000 in cash. Macquarie Radio Network will make payment to prize winner by cheque or EFT. Prize fulfilment can take up to 4 weeks after final date of the promotional period.

12. Restriction on Liability. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage, including indirect or consequential loss or damage, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize (including during the course of accepting or using the Prize), except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. All entrants release the Promoter and its related bodies corporate from, and indemnify the Promoter and its related bodies corporate against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the Prize or participation in the Promotion, including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury.

13. Warranties. The winner should look to the manufacturer of the Prize for all warranties. However, these terms and conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) where to do so would contravene that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void.

14. Publicity. Entrants agree to the use of their image and name for publicity regarding the Promotion and acknowledge that it is a condition of taking the Prize that all winners agree to publicity regarding the Promotion, including the use of their names and images without additional compensation. The Promoter may require, in its absolute discretion, any Prize winner not to, without the prior written consent of the Promoter (which may be withheld in its absolute discretion), participate in any other media activities or promotions, the purpose of which, or which involve, discussing, commenting on, or expressing a view in relation to the Promotion.

15. Rights to Entries. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Promoter has the right to all materials generated in connection with the Promotion and can use the material in any medium and in any manner it sees fit. By entering the Promotion, entrants assign to the Promoter all copyright to any content forming part of their entry.

17. Confidential Information. Prize winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge of the Promoter and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the Promotion.
