General Terms & Conditions 2GB - 2015

Examples of minor promotions on Radio 2GB:

1.Alan Jones Music Segment:

Everyday during the breakfast program Alan Jones asks listeners a question relating to the CD of the week. The nominated caller/s through with the right answer will win a general prize.

 

2.Chris Smith ‘Smithys Quiz’ Segment:

Everyday during the afternoon program Chris Smith will ask quiz questions. The format is a last man standing quiz, with callers answering questions until they get one wrong, then revert to the next caller. The last caller to answer question 5 correctly will win the general prize/s.

 

3.Ben Fordham Happy Hour:

Every Friday during the drive program Ben Fordham will cue ‘Happy Hour’. The nominated caller/s through will win the general prize/s.

 

4.Sportszone Quiz:

Every Friday clues to a person or thing will be given out throughout the Sportzone program. The nominated correct caller/s through will win the general prize/s.

 

5.General Prize Sheet:

Various general prizes are given away as part of quizzes, segments and/or as gifts to listeners during the week. These are at the announcer's discretion.

Prizes:

General prizes include CD's, DVD's, flowers/fruit, books, games, toys, movie passes, theatre tickets, restaurant vouchers, accommodation vouchers etc.

 

Terms & Conditions:

These terms and conditions will be available to view at 2GB.com during the time of its validity.

All winners are automatically entered on the 2GB Promotions Database.

Only one minor prize can be won by any one listener OR a member of the same family within a THREE week period.

Only one minor prize can be won per household within a THREE week period.

Only one minor prize can be won by a member of an immediate family within a THREE week period.

Only one major prize can be won in a competition conducted by any station of the Macquarie Radio Network by any one listener within a twelve month period.

For any end of week draw, only one entry per person will be accepted.

The maximum single value for a major prize is worth $1,000, unless otherwise specified in an additional permit.

Where specified, prizes may need to be collected from the studios/office of Radio 2GB. If a prize is required to be collected and the winner cannot collect, the winner will incur the cost of a courier, postage or forfeit the prize.

All winners contact details are retained for administrative purposes only.

Winners who ‘opt-in’ to receive information from external companies may be contacted by those companies for any purpose.

No information will be disclosed to anyone outside 2GB.

All Prize fulfilment can take up to four weeks due to the amount of prizes given away.

Once the prize has left the offices of Radio 2GB we hold no responsibility regarding breakages or loss of parcel. In case of lost mail the winner will need to liaise directly with their local post office. 2GB will make every effort to help the situation but replacements are not guaranteed.

If the prize is not available due to unforseen circumstances Radio 2GB reserves the right to exchange the prize for something of equal value.

Judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Winners cannot exchange prizes for cash or for any other prize.

Current Employees of the Macquarie Radio Network and their immediate families and group companies and any other company associated to the specific competition are not eligible to enter the competitions.

Unless otherwise advised, only residents of the 2GB listening area in New South Wales are eligible to enter competitions and win prizes.

Radio 2GB reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.

All contestants release from, and indemnify 2GB and the Macquarie Radio Network against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the competition including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury.

If the winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize may be awarded to the winner's parent or guardian.

Radio 2GB has the right to temporarily or permanently disqualify any person from taking part in any promotions or competitions if the station, in its sole discretion, deems that person to have broken the rules of the general prize giveaways. The person will be advised of this in writing after the decision to disqualify has been made.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.

In the event that for any reason whatsoever a show, concert or event is cancelled radio 2GB will not be held liable to replace the prize. Replacement prizes will be at the discretion of the promoter.

At no time will Radio 2GB be held responsible for faults or drop outs in telephony or other IT communication in relation to on-air contesting, whether in the contestants device or connection or Radio 2GB's device or connection. In such an instance, no compensatory prizes or allowance will be made.

Radio 2GB may at any time and  in its absolute discretion alter, amend, add to, waive or enforce the General Competition Rules and any Specific Competition Rules with present, future or antecedent effect as it sees fit.

Each entrant consents to the content of their entry and any telephone entries or other call with the Promoter being recorded, broadcast and published online by the Promoter without payment.

All winners may be required by Radio 2GB in its absolute discretion to:

-        Participate in promotional activities for the benefit of Radio 2GB.

-        That he or she will not, without prior written consent of Radio 2GB (which maybe with held in its absolute discretion) participate in any other media activities, promotions for the purpose of or which involve discussion, commenting on, expressing a view on the account of the competition.

-        In promotional activities the winner will refrain from expressing a negative or disparate view of Radio 2GB or parent company the Macquarie Radio Network and its operations and related bodies.

-        The winner acknowledges and agrees that Radio 2GB has the right to all materials generated in connection with the promotion and can use the material in any medium and in any manner it sees fit.

-        Radio 2GB will also hold the copyright to any photographs, video footage or written comment taken for publicity purposes and can use these items in any promotional material for the time period of five years.

-        Competition winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge of Radio 2GB and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the competition.

 

Use of false name or address, i.e. name by which the entrant is not usually known will disqualify them from receiving the prize.

 

Acceptance of entering the competition is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.

 

All correspondence regarding prizes must be in writing to the Promotions Department at Radio 2GB.

 

All correspondence will be answered within a three week period.

 

Notwithstanding any other condition of these specific competition rules, Radio 2GB reserves the right to withdraw the competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

 

The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize(s), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

 

If the prize requires travel it will be each prize winner’s and (if applicable) their accompanying guest/s responsibility to take out all relevant insurance (including but not limited to travel insurance) which may be required or prudent to be taken (at their own cost) unless otherwise specified.

1.     Participants will be required to their personal details including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number and correct answer. Incomprehensible entries will not be included in the draw.

2.     Entries must be received by the disclosed time (AEST/AEDT) on disclosed date.  The time of entry will in each case be the time the registered on the website.

3.     The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the web user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

4.     If for any reason if the competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.

Proof of identity, residency and/or entry validity considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.19. Prizes will only be awarded following winner validation and verification. If an entrant, finalist or winner is not successfully contacted in a telephone call or attempted telephone call by the Promoter related to participation or entry in the Promotion (including where a third party answers the telephone on the contestant or winner’s behalf) that entrant will be disqualified and a replacement contestant or winner (whichever is applicable) will be selected by the Promoter.21. If in the course of a telephone call related to participation or entry in the Promotion, the telephone line drops out or breaks up the Promoter may proceed to another caller. If a Prize involves a “meet and greet” element with a celebrity/artist/public figure this is subject to the availability of that third party and will be at the discretion of the celebrity/artist/public figure’s management and will at all times be subject to the availability. The Promoter and/ Prize Provider will not be liable for the failure of the winner and any accompanying guests to meet the celebrity/artist/public figure for whatever reason, and no cash or alternative tickets will be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.27. If a Prize involves travel, no other costs will be included and all expenses (including, but not limited to, the costs of transport to and from a prize venue and meals), other than those specifically referred to, will be at each winner’s and (if applicable) their accompanying guest’s cost. Accommodation is forroom charges only. Unless otherwise specified, the class of air travel for any airfare component of a Prize is economy class. If a winner does not redeem any element of a prize at the time stipulated then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and no substitute prize will be awarded in lieu of that prize or any part of it.32. Entrants may be required by the Promoter and/or a nominated Prize Provider, to participate in photo, recording, video and/or film session(s) and acknowledge that they assign the right to use such publicity materials in any medium (including, without limitation, the internet) and in any reasonable manner it sees fit.33. The Promoter's decision not to enforce a specific clause of the Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of that right. The Promoter may enforce these Terms and Conditions in its absolute discretion.41. To the extent of any inconsistency between the Schedule and these Terms and Conditions, the Schedule shall prevail.42. These Terms and Conditions are to be construed in accordance with the laws in force in the Relevant State.43. The entrant acknowledges that there may be inherent risks involved in entering this Promotion or taking or participating in the Prize(s). If entry or a Prize involves travel, stunts or challenges the Promoter may require the participants to:(a) Submit to a medical examination by a medical practitioner approved by the Promoter and obtain relevant medical clearance to participate in the Promotion and/or redeem a Prize; and/or(b) Execute a Deed of Release and Indemnity in a form prescribed by the Promoter in order to participate further in the Promotion or redeem a Prize.44. Win a $5000 Training Voucher with AIM: specific terms and conditions

1. Promotion. These terms and conditions relate to the “AIM $5000 Training Voucher" promotion ("Promotion"). Information on how to enter and the Prizes forms part of these terms and conditions.

2. Promoter. The Promoter is Harbour Radio Pty Ltd of Level 1, Building C, 33-35 Saunders Street, Pyrmont, NSW, 2009 (the "Promoter").

3. Subject to Terms and Conditions. Any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions is invalid. By entering into or otherwise participating in the Promotion, you say that you agree to these terms and conditions. Subject to the approval required by any relevant gaming or lotteries authority, the Promoter may at any time and in its absolute discretion alter, amend, add to, waive or enforce these terms and conditions with present, future or antecedent effect as it sees fit.

Draw 2 commences on 25/08/15 at 9:01am AEST and concludes on 22/09/15 at 09:00am AEST.  Entries must be received by the Promoter prior to the competition close date and time.

Draw 3 commences on 22/09/15 at 09:01am AEST and concludes on 27/10/15 at 09:00am AEST.  Entries must be received by the Promoter prior to the competition close date and time.

7. Restrictions on Entry. Only one entry is permitted per person, and only one Prize can be won per household. Use of a false name (ie. the name by which the entrant is not usually known) or address is not permitted. Entrants using false information will be disqualified. The Promoter may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process. Members of the same household or family may enter, but no household or family or club can win a prize more than once in a 3 week period in a promotion held by the Promoter.

8. Promoter may Disqualify Entrants. The Promoter may verify the validity of entries, including but not limited to whether an entry is in accordance with these terms and conditions, and may disqualify any entrant in its absolute discretion.

9. Receipt of Entries. Entries are deemed to have been received at the time of receipt by the Promoter. The Promoter is not responsible for failure to receive any entry for any cause beyond its control. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any inability or difficulty in entering the Promotion caused by the unavailability of, or other fault on, the Website.

10. Prizes. The Individual prize is an AIM training voucher to the value of $5,000 (including GST) x 4.  Total prize pool value is up to $20,000 (including GST) as at 13/12/15. The Australian Institute of Management $5,000 Training Voucher can be used for Face to Face, online courses or towards an AIM VET qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma). Assessments are not included in the training voucher. The training voucher can be used by the winner as well as employees of the winner. This training voucher cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.  The training voucher must be redeemed within 12 months of being notified of the win. Any balance that has not been utilised by 12 months will expire. Travel costs are not included in the prize. Winners will have to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

 

 

The prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize. Prize values are correct at the time of printing but no responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of any Prizes. If a Prize is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter will, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of no lesser retail value and/or specification, subject to the approval of the authorities that have issued permits for the conduct of the Promotion. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by the winners or any other party if a Prize is unavailable for any reason.

Prize Draw: Entries will be judged at 33-35 Saunders Street by the Promotions Department and Ross Greenwood. All judgements are final and no further correspondence will be entered in to.

11. Announcement of Winners. All winners will announced on air and posted online. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of employment at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter or its agent. Should the Promoter not be able to contact the winner within 5 business days, it may, in its absolute discretion, decide to award the Prize to the next best entrant.

12. Prize Fulfilment. All winners will be contacted by email or telephone and supplied with details for redeeming the voucher.

12. Restriction on Liability. The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage, including indirect or consequential loss or damage, or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Prize (including during the course of accepting or using the Prize), except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law. All entrants release the Promoter and its related bodies corporate from, and indemnify the Promoter and its related bodies corporate against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the Prize or participation in the Promotion, including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury.

13. Warranties. The winner should look to the manufacturer of the Prize for all warranties. However, these terms and conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) where to do so would contravene that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void.

14. Publicity. Entrants agree to the use of their image and name for publicity regarding the Promotion and acknowledge that it is a condition of taking the Prize that all winners agree to publicity regarding the Promotion, including the use of their names and images without additional compensation. The Promoter may require, in its absolute discretion, any Prize winner not to, without the prior written consent of the Promoter (which may be withheld in its absolute discretion), participate in any other media activities or promotions, the purpose of which, or which involve, discussing, commenting on, or expressing a view in relation to the Promotion.

15. Rights to Entries. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Promoter has the right to all materials generated in connection with the Promotion and can use the material in any medium and in any manner it sees fit. By entering the Promotion, entrants assign to the Promoter all copyright to any content forming part of their entry.

17. Confidential Information. Prize winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge of the Promoter and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the Promotion.
