Peugeot 2008 SUV a worthy competitor in crowded market
Driving the updated Peugeot 2008 SUV today, vastly improved to the first series that arrived in 2013, at last with the right spec to make it a worthy competitor in a crowded small SUV market, Three Peugeot 2008 models from the Active at $26,490 to the GT-Line I tested at 32,990. I love the three- cylinder 1.2-litre engine and new speed automatic. Performance from the superseded model was non-existent – this new combination is vibrant and appealing – great economy, I managed to meet the stated 4.8L/100km but it does need dearer 95 Ron fuel. This aside its hard to criticise the 2WD Peugeot 2008 – the GT line packed with all the bells and whistles in a refreshed body that’s practical on the inside. The dashboard is pure French fashion, different and really practical and inviting, the seats fantastic – my seat critic Mrs Berthon enthusing over their comfort and support. The revitalised second-series Peugeot 2008 now a competitive small SUV package. I’m David Berthon
