Audi Q2: an urban adventure vehicle
Driving Audi’s new compact premium Q2 SUV – a more edgy design to the similar sized Audi Q3, bound to appeal to a younger audience and very nicely built in the Audi tradition. Two engine choices – 1.4-turbo petrol with front wheel drive from $41,400, 2.0-litre turbo-diesel in Quattro all-wheel- drive from $47,900 – both with 7-speed dual clutch automatic and manual shift paddles. I tested the latter – the diesel offering a very torquey performance especially around town, but I would prefer the petrol model quieter and very polished. The technology in this premium compact Audi SUV is simply marvelous – spend $2,500 on the Technik option and you get a fully digital virtual cockpit instrument cluster with 12.3 inch high resolution display and a great navigation package. With impressive fit and finish, a nice upright seat position and good ride quality the Audi Q2 wants for little. Audi suggests it’s an urban adventure vehicle and the description is most apt.
