When it comes to home-cooked meals, 70s food is back in a big way.

The list of this year’s top trending recipes is out and some of our old favourites have made it.

Quiche lorraine, beef stroganoff, shepherd’s pie and the old-fashioned chicken parma all made the top 10.

Celebrity chef and restaurateur Luke Mangan tells Michael McLaren why these nostalgic recipes are back in fashion.

“Restaurants are modernising the old classics these days. The beauty of the simple dishes is modern chefs can make them different.”

“Instead of the mashed potato on your shepherd’s pie, you might put sweet potato puree on top with some spices.”

Luke says people just want the “simplicity of good food” from their childhood.

He also gave Michael the secret to a new and improved prawn cocktail.
