You also need Microsoft's Windows Media Player software to access our streaming audio, which is available for free. You will not need to provide credit card details at any point when obtaining it. Download Windows Media Player here.
You will also need Macromedia's Flash plug-in. This is also a free program and well worth downloading. You can obtain it here.
What is 'streaming'?
Streaming lets you listening to audio or video while it downloads over the internet to your computer. Audio and video files can be very big. Video especially can take a long time to deliver if you're using dial-up internet. Streaming reduces the size of these files and allows you to watch or hear them as they're delivered to your computer. This means you can start listening straight away without needing to wait for the entire file to download. Streaming also allows live content, such as radio and television programmes, to be delivered direct to your computer.

Why do I keep getting a message about 'Macromedia Flash'?
Flash is a technology which allows us to display information in a variety of ways. We've chosen to use it to display the 'now playing' information and 'just played' information. On internal tests we've found it displays the information more consistently across a wider range of browsers and platforms. It's quite a small download and worth the effort. Download Flash here.

How do I listen on my iphone or ipad?
There are several iphone and ipad apps that will allow you to listen to 2GB. Here are two that we have tested:
- Tunein Radio (paid) is easy to use, and has 2GB in its station directory.
- FStream (free) is a bit more complicated to use. You must enter 2GB's stream address - http://www.2gb.com/listenlive/2gb_live.asx - manually.
Please be aware that listening to streaming radio via 3G on your iphone will count against your monthly data transfer allowance.
