Radio 2GB - General Prize Giveaways

Date:                Monday 28th December 2009 – Monday 27th December 2010.

Examples of minor promotions on Radio 2GB:

  1. Alan Jones Music segment:
    Every day at 5.50am Alan Jones asks listeners a question relating to the CD of the week. The nominated callers through with the right answer will win one copy of the CD of the week.
  2. Chris Smith Trivia Quiz:During the afternoon program Chris will ask a general quiz question. The first correct caller through will win the daily prize/s.
  3. 2GB Sampling Vehicle:
    Weekdays, the 2GB Hyundai Santa Fe visits a different location in Sydney with various prizes for listeners to win. These prizes are won randomly at the discretion of the 2GB Promotions employee or via a ticket draw.
  4. General Prize Sheet:
    Various prizes are given away as gifts to listeners during the week. These are at the announcer's discretion.

Prizes: General prizes include CD's, DVD's, flowers/fruit, books, games, toys, movie passes, theatre tickets, restaurant vouchers, accommodation vouchers etc.

Terms and Conditions:

  • These terms and conditions will be available to view at 2gb.com during the time of its validity.
  • All winners are automatically entered on the 2GB Promotions Database.
  • Only one minor prize can be won by any one listener OR a member of the same family within a THREE week period.
  • Only one prize can be won per household within a THREE week period.
  • Only one prize can be won by a member of an immediate family within a THREE week period.
  • Only one major prize can be won in a competition conducted by either 2GB or 2CH by any one listener within a twelve month period.
  • For any end of week draw, only one entry per person will be accepted.
  • A major prize is that worth over $2,500 unless otherwise specified in an additional permit.
  • Where specified, prizes may need to be collected from the studios/office of Radio 2GB.
  • All winners contact details are retained for administrative purposes only.
  • No information will be disclosed to anyone outside 2GB.
  • Every effort is made by 2GB to send all prizes out by mail and should be received within three weeks of the entrant winning.
  • Once the prize has left the offices of Radio 2GB we hold no responsibility regarding breakages or loss of parcel. In case of lost mail the winner will need to liaise directly with their local post office.
  • If the prize is not available due to unforseen circumstances Radio 2GB reserve the right to swap the prize for something of equal value.
  • Judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • Winners can not exchange prize for cash or for any other prize.
  • Current Employees of the Macquarie Radio Network and their immediate families and group companies and any other company associated to the specific competition are not eligible to enter the competitions. 
  • Radio 2GB reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
  • All contestants release from, and indemnify 2GB and the Macquarie Radio Network against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the competition including but not limited to loss of income, personal injury.
  • If the winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize may be awarded to the winner's parent or guardian.
  • Radio 2GB has the right to bar competition winners who they deem have broken the rules of the general prize giveaway's for a period of up to three months. The winner will be advised of this in writing after the entrant has been disqualified.
  • In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
  • All winners may be required by Radio 2GB in its absolute discretion to:
  • Participate in promotional activities for the benefit of Radio 2GB.
  • That he or she will not, with out prior written consent of Radio 2GB (which maybe with held in its absolute discretion) participate in any other media activities, promotions for the purpose of or which involve discussion, commenting on, expressing a view on the account of the competition
  • In promotional activities the winner will refrain from expressing a negative or disparate view of Radio 2GB or parent company the Macquarie Radio Network and its operations and related bodies.
  • The winner acknowledges and agrees that Radio 2GB has the right to all materials generated in connection with the promotion and can use the material in any medium and in any manner it sees fit.
  • Radio 2GB will also hold the copyright to any photographs, video footage or written comment taken for publicity purposes and can use these items in any promotional material for the time period of five years.
  • Competition winners agree to keep confidential any knowledge of Radio 2GB and its business and personnel received by them as a result of the competition.
  • Use of false name or address, ie name by which the entrant is not usually known will disqualify them from receiving the prize.
  • Acceptance of the prize is deemed acceptance of the terms and conditions.
  • All correspondence regarding prizes must be in writing to the Promotions Department at Radio 2GB. All correspondence will be answered within a three week period.
  • Notwithstanding any other condition of these specific competition rules, Radio 2GB reserves the right to withdraw the competition at any time and for any reason whatsoever.
  • The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

For 1900 Number Competitions

    1. For phone entry: If available as a form of competition entry, 2GB number is 1902 55 88 44. Max call cost is $0.55 (including GST). Higher from mobiles. Service not available from payphones. Participants will be required to their personal details including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number and correct answer. Inaudible and incomprehensible recordings will not be included in the draw.
    2. Entries must be received by the disclosed time (AEST/AEDT) on disclosed date.  The time of entry will in each case be the time the 1900 telephone call is received by the Legion Interactive/Belong database.
    3. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.  The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
    4. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
    5. Legion Interactive/Belong Pty Ltd, on behalf of Macquarie Radio Network, is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winner). The entrant's personal information may be disclosed to Legion Interactive/Belong Pty Ltd for this purpose. If you are not willing for this to occur you cannot participate in the Promotion.

SUBSCRIBE TO WINCOMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS  

  1. The promoter of the "Subscribe to win" competition (Competition) is Dell Australia Pty Limited (ABN 46 003 855 561) of Unit 3, 14 Aquatic Drive, Frenchs Forest, NSW 2086, Australia (Promoter).
  2. Entry into the Competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions and the Promoter's Privacy Policy. All entry instructions and prize information published by the Promoter also form part of these terms and conditions.

Competition dates 

  1. The Competition commences at 9:00 am AEST on 23rd August 2010and closes at 5:00pm AEST on 20th October 2010 (Competition Period).

Qualifying Criteria 

  1. The Competition is open to businesses in Australia that are either
    1. incorporated businesses (e.g. registered companies); or
    2. registered sole traders (Australian Business); and   
    3. have not previously subscribed to receive weekly email business updates from Dell.
  2. Entry in the Competition is free and entries must be completed within the Competition Period.
  3. Before you can enter an Australian Business in the Competition, you must meet the following criteria:
    1. you must be a staff member or officer of the Australian Business and be aged 18 years or older as at the Competition start date of 23rd August 2010; and
    2.  you must have proper authorisation from the Australian Business to enter the Australian Business in the Competition and to accept the prizes from this Competition; and
    3. you must not be a director, officer, or employee of the Promoter or an immediate family member of a director, officer, or employee of the Promoter.

Entering the Competition 

  1. Entry into the Competition for an Australian Business must be undertaken during the Competition Period by:
    1. completing the online entry form on the website at www.2gb.com/competition/dellbusiness/  (Website) and choosing to receive weekly email business updates from Dell 'business'; and
    2. describing where indicated on the Website , in 25 words or less, why your Australian Business needs an IT upgrade

together a Prize Entry.

  1. You can only submit one Prize Entry in the Competition. If you submit any additional Prize Entries after the first valid Prize Entry, those additional entries will be deemed invalid.
  2. The Promoter takes no responsibility for late or misdirected Prize Entries or any delays or failures in any telecommunications services or equipment. Prize Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt by the Promoter and not at the time of transmission. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected Prize Entries. Incomplete, inaccurate, erroneous, ineligible or incomprehensive Prize Entries will be deemed invalid.

Prizes 
There are 5 prizes in total (Prize Pool).  The total value of the Prize Pool of the Competition is $15,596 AUD at the commencement of the Competition.
Minor Prizes

  1. There will be a total of 4 minor prizes awarded on the basis of the most creative valid Prize Entry (Minor Prize Winners) as follows:
    1. Minor Prize 1: Prize Entries submitted between 23rd August 2010 and 5th September 2010 will  be judged at 3pm AEST on 6th September 2010;
    2. Minor Prize 2: Prize Entries submitted between 6th September 2010 and 12th September 2010 will be judged at 3pm AEST on 13th September 2010;
    3. Minor Prize 3: Prize Entries submitted between 13th September 2010 and 18th December 2010 will be judged at 3pm AEST on 19th September 2010; and
    4. Minor Prize 4: Prize Entries submitted between 19th September 2010 and 26th September 2010 will be judged at 3pm AEST on 27th September 2010.
  2. The Minor Prize Winners will each win 1 Dell Vostro 13 notebook valued at $1,399 AUD at the start of the competition (Minor Prize).

Major Prize

  1. There will be 1 major prize awarded on the basis of the most creative valid Prize Entry (Major Prize Winner).
  2. The major prize consists of a right to make a single purchase of goods from the Promoter to a value of $10,000 Australian Dollars (Major Prize).

Prize Conditions

  1. The Major Prize and Minor Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
  2. The Major Prize must be redeemed or before 1st December 2010.
  3. The Major Prize and Minor Prizes must be redeemed through one of the Promoter's sales representatives who will assist the winner and not from a direct purchase via the Dell online store.
  4. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from any winning of the prizes and individuals entering the Competition should seek independent financial advice before entering the Competition.

Judging

  1. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners of the Competition.
  2. The judging of the Competition will take place at the Promoter's offices as follows:
    1. Minor Prizes: A single Minor Prize will be awarded on each of the following dates:
      1. 3pm AEST 6th September 2010;
      2. 3pm AEST 13th September 2010;
      3. 3pm AEST 20th September 2010: and
      4. 3pm AEST 27th September 2010.
    2.  Major Prize. The Major Prize will be awarded on the basis of the most creative Prize Entry at 3:00pm AEST on Friday, 20st  October 2010.
  3. The Promoter's decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. All winners will be notified in writing by the Promoter (or its agents) within 2 days of the prize judging using the contact details provided on the Competition entry form. The name of the Major Prize Winner and Minor Prize Winner will also be published in The Australian newspaper on 28th October 2010. 
  5. In the event that a winner of the Major Prize or a Minor Prize cannot be contacted or fails to accept the prize within 3 months of the prize judging date, the Promoter will award the prize to another entrant whose Prize Entry the Promoter deems to be the next most creative Prize Entry for the relevant prize.
  6. Each Australian Business, if requested by the Promoter, must verify its compliance with these Competition terms and conditions prior to receiving a prize. The required verification shall be in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. Any winner that does not comply with this clause will forfeit its prize.

Promotional and other obligations 

  1. By entering the Competition, you and/or the Australian Business agree that, in the event that the Australian Business is selected as a winner of a prize, you and/or the Australian Business will make yourself available for reasonable publicity purposes related to the Competition and that (without limiting its rights), the Promoter may conduct interviews and take photographs to be used for such publicity purposes and publication by the Promoter as it deems necessary.

Miscellaneous 

  1. The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered by you or the Australian Business (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), or for personal injury suffered or sustained, as a result of you taking part in, winning or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  2. All Prize Entries become the property of the Promoter. By taking part in the Competition, you, irrevocably assign all rights, title and interest in your entry to the Promoter and waive any moral rights in relation to the same. You must procure all individual assignments and moral rights waivers as necessary to ensure the assignment of all rights to the Promoter in accordance with this clause.
  3. The Promoter will use the information contained in your application form in accordance with the Privacy Policy on the on the Promoter's website at www.dell.com.au.
  4. If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned (including but not limited to) infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, prohibition by the relevant authorities or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition as it sees fit. Any entry which is made as a result of tampering with the entry process will be invalid and not eligible for prizes.
  5. These Competition terms and conditions are to be construed in accordance with the law in New South Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
