Andrew Moore

Andrew Moore I started my radio career in 1986, when 2UE hired me as a 17-year-old sports cadet.

What then began was an eight-year stint of producing, keeping statistics and commentating on cricket. I worked with the likes of Richie Benaud, Tony Grieg, Henry Blofeld, Dennis Cometti, Doug Walters and Ian Chappell.

Other duties included presenting sport shows, sport segments in the news, as the Around the Grounds rugby league reporter, and backup rugby league commentator to Ray Hadley.

It was time for a change though, so in 1994 and I started a four-year stint with 2GB, where I had the honour of heading up the rugby league coverage on World of Football, and hosting a six-hour weekend sports show throughout the summer months.

It was early starts as well, presenting the Breakfast sports news, and also filled-in for various current affairs shows.

In 1999, I ventured back across the harbour bridge to 2SM, initially presenting sport on Clive Robertson's Breakfast Show and hosting that programme when Clive was away.

But in 2000, I presented my own five-hour nightly show called Moore at Night.

In 2001, it was back to 2UE to co-host the Sports Today programme with Peter Bosly, and for half the year also hosted Saturday Night Live, which rated successfully.

I also called several rugby union Test matches and Super 12 games, along with several Sydney Swans AFL matches with Ray Hadley.

I returned to 2GB in 2002, and enjoy presenting Sunday Sportzone each Sunday night between 6pm and 8pm. Here, I wrap up the weekend in sport and get views from stars of the NRL, AFL, cricket, rugby union and soccer, among others.

You can also hear me calling Saturday night rugby league games as part of the Continuous Call Team, when in season, and debating the sports news with Alan Jones on his Number 1-rating Breakfast Show each weekday.

I was born on March 23, 1969, I'm in my 23rd year in Sydney radio broadcasting.
