University of Sydney Book Fair 2017
Find a bargain at the University of Sydney’s annual Book Fair to be held in the Great Hall of the University – from Saturday 9th September until Wednesday
13th September – daily from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
The book fair runs over five days and is the most eagerly anticipated and well-supported Book Fair in Sydney. No doubt the setting in the Great Hall is also part of the attraction. Buyers come early from far and wide to get the best selection.
This year is the Book Fair’s 32nd anniversary and there are tens of thousands of quality second hand books displayed in over hundred easy to find categories to choose from at bargain prices – with a large section of collectable and old & interesting items.
The keynote attraction this year is a magnificent collection of Art books from the estate of the late Amina and Franco Belgiorno-Nettis.
For those unfamiliar with the Belgiorno-Nettis family, Franco Belgiorno-Nettis, was the Founding Governor of the first Biennale of Sydney held in 1973.
This is a wonderful opportunity to start or add to your rare-book collection or pick up some treasures.
On the last 2 days, it’s boxes of bargains. On Tuesday – buyers can fill a box with books of their choice for only $10 and on the last day (Wednesday) a box will only cost $5.
So you don’t faint while losing track of time browsing the aisles, there is a sausage sizzle on the Saturday and Sunday on the lawn next to the Great Hall, with the proceeds of which going to the local public school.
Please note: On the weekend of the Book Fair, 9th – 10th September, parking within the University grounds is free – so get in early.
Funds raised go towards scholarships, maintenance of historic buildings and other vital projects at the University of Sydney.
We welcome donations of used books in good condition and we can arrange to pick up big donations – so please email us at or phone 02 9351 0017.
