7th Annual Emergency Services Mega Bash

The 2GB sponsored 7th annual Emergency Services Mega Bash community engagement is being held on Saturday 20 January 2018 at Gannon’s Park, Isaak St, Peakhurst. 

Members of the community will be entertained with not only the cricket skills and spills displayed by the personnel of emergency services, they will also have on display the vehicles in which they perform their duties on a daily basis. Children can climb on fire trucks or don a police cap or see what life is like in the Army! No matter if you come for the cricket, see celebrities, climb on  displays or jump on rides, there is something for everyone!!

The aim of the event is a community engagement for the emergency service agencies to raise awareness and further development with research into child related health issues and further assist families during such crisis. The aim of this assistance is to ultimately save lives. All profits are being donated to Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation


The event itself is a round robin cricket tournament played amongst teams from the NSW emergency services being PoliceAmbulanceFire & RescueState Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service. 

 
Throughout the day, a number of sporting bodies will be hosting free clinic skills sessions for children and include 9:30am cricket (run by Cricket NSW ); 10:45am rugby union (run by NSW Waratahs); and 12pm rugby league (run by NRL).
 
From 1pm, patrons will get the chance to have their photo taken and get signatures from their idols and celebrities, who have included former and current Australian and International cricketers, Olympians, Ironwomen and Triathletes, former NRL, AFL and Socceroo greats & players and media personalities, just to name a few!! About 2pm, the celebrities will hit the field and blast their way to victory!
 
Community members are welcome to join the emergency services personnel from 6.30pm at Club Grandviews821 Forest Rd, Peakhurst at a function hosted by media personality, Darryl ‘Big Marn’ Brohman, who will interview the special guests. A mega raffle will be drawn and live auction hosted with your chance to win fantastic prizes.
